Summer Fest

Since it’s the first day of Summer, I figured what better way to start up this blog– again for the 3rd or 4th time. Yes, I am going to be better this time ( and yes, I’m also saying that again) I wanted to start today with….Summer Fest!!!DSCF2635

Last weekend Tasha and I attended a lovely event over at the Newport Dunes called Summer Fest. It was set up by OC Weekly and the weather could not have been any more beautiful. We got ourselves the VIP tickets since we wanted to experience all this event had to offer, and it was completely worth it. VIP was only about 30 Smackeroos more than GA, and it came with an abundance of drank and food. The idea for the VIP’s were to has us vote for our favorite meal, and farm to table drink. I believe there were about 6 different bars competing, all of which needed to use fresh ingredients (hence the farm to table theme) and all used Tito’s Vodka, thanks Tito! There is no limit to the amount of tasting you have, which is clearly important when it comes to judging alcohol–although after quite a few samples we were in love with them all–EVERYONE IS A WINNER!! (Tasha had the right idea)

In between our “drink judging” we would make our rounds to sample all the tasty food. There were about 20 different restaurants who all brought their A-Game. Below I will share a bunch of pictures, and not really explain what it is, just for your eyes to enjoy :p

So, there you have an idea of what we were working with. Small bites, but so delicious and there was no police stopping anyone from grabbing a handful of these bites, as most places wanted the win best dish of the evening anyway.

So, was the event worth it? 100% yes!

Will we go again next year? Another 100% yes.

What was our favorite part? It was the Vip Garden that had smooth music, and bottomless drank samples. DSCF2650

There you have it, and until next time, which won’t be long as we promise to post more 🙂
